Waterford, Ireland. July 09th 2012. Embedded Labs have today announced that they are combining their existing OPC-UA Device Server Software Development Kits for Microcontrollers and Microprocessors into a single unified product. This new product, entitled Embedded Labs’ OPC-UA Embedded Server SDK, will result in significant cost reductions for customers integrating OPC-UA servers into their embedded products.

Shane Robinson Commercial Director, Embedded Labs said, “We wanted to simplify our product offering and at the same time restructure our pricing to make our products more accessible to the smaller OEM. We believe that our combination of aggressive pricing and a single unified SDK that is scalable from Sensors to Industrial PCs will accelerate the adoption of OPC-UA by Original Equipment Manufacturers”.

The OPC-UA Embedded Server SDK is fully configurable and scalable from microcontrollers with 64kB RAM right up to high end embedded systems based on ARM9, ARM Cortex-Ax and x86 based processors such as the Intel Atom. The product can be optimized for minimum RAM and FLASH utilization or for large data sets and multiple concurrent client connections.

Waterford, Ireland. November 23rd 2010.Embedded Labs have today announced their OPC-UA Embedded Device Server Software Stack. The stack minimizes development cost, time to market and bill of materials cost for OEM’s that want to add OPC-UA Server functionality to their products. It was demonstrated at SPS/IPC/Drives 2010 in Nuremberg, Germany running on a low-cost ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller with 64kB RAM in conjunction with GraphWorX64 from ICONICS.

The stack is an efficient, optimized implementation developed from first principles by Embedded Labs. It fully encapsulates the UA Address Space and UA Services and no knowledge of OPC-UA is required in order to integrate it into your product. There are no software limits on the number of sessions, subscriptions or monitored items. The stack is available to license in January 2011.

Shane Robinson, Commercial Director Embedded Labs said, OPC-UA is the future for standardised, multi-platform device connectivity. Embedded OPC-UA solutions from Embedded Labs are the fastest, easiest and lowest-cost way to OPC-UA enable both existing and new product lines.

About OPC-UA

OPC-UA (Unified Architecture) is the new OPC specification from the OPC Foundation (http://www.opcfoundation.org). OPC-UA defines a rich information model, enabling more effective communication between devices and software applications. Unlike its predecessors, OPC-UA supports multiple platform implementations enabling scalability from smart sensors to MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems).

About Embedded Labs

Embedded Labs is a leading developer of embedded OPC-UA products and solutions. Founded in 2002, Embedded Labs is an OPC Foundation Corporate Member and member of the OPC-UA CWG (Compliance Working Group). Embedded Labs is based in Waterford, Ireland.
