Embedded Labs believe that the only way to ensure quality requirements and deadlines are consistently met is through the use of structured development processes. Embedded Labs' processes minimise risk and reduce project timescales and cost by getting it right first time.

Embedded development projects can be sub-divided into a number of logical steps. These are:

Phase 1 • Identification of functional requirements • Translation into Technical Requirements (Architectural Design) Phase 2 • Low-level design for implementation • Implementation / development and test • Validation and verification Phase 3 • Transfer, maintenance & support

With Embedded Labs, the client only commits to the first phase of the project up-front. This phase defines phase 2 scope, identifies technical risks and clearly lists phase 2 deliverables. The client then has a complete and accurate project specification that can be used as a basis for scheduling and costing the development phase.

Embedded Labs prefer to quote for development on a fixed price basis in whole or in part. This is of course subject to risk assessment and the availability of complete functional specifications. During development we like to minimise cost to the client by project managing the entire phase and performing as much of the work off-site as possible. This does not of course prevent us from working closely with the client's internal development team if required.

It is very rare for a development phase to be completed without some specification changes. Embedded Labs implement a formal but flexible change request system that ensures clients know the schedule and cost implications of all changes before they are implemented.

After your system enters production, Embedded Labs provide extensive maintenance & support services tailored to your specific needs.
